Bastiaan Johan Verink
Bastiaan is a member of the project development team for the PPI Renewable Energy Database. Previously, he worked at the European gas infrastructure company Nederlandsche Gasunie modeling supply-side projections for the European gas market. He also worked with the Center for Transatlantic Relations in Washington DC. A Fulbright Scholar, Bastiaan holds a Masters degree in Energy Policy & International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), as well as an LL.M. in International and European Law.
John Iwan Probyn
John is a member of the project development team for the PPI Renewable Energy Database. Previously, he worked at The Probyn Group, then manager of the Clean Power Income Fund (TSX: CLE.UN) and Renewable Energy Generation Ltd (LSE: RWE). He has also worked for the financial advisory firm Taylor-Dejongh in Washington DC, as well as with the Canadian International Development Agency in Ecuador. John holds a Masters degree in Energy Policy & International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies(SAIS).
Alexander Nicholas Jett
Alexander is the team leader of the PPI Database and renewable energy window. Previously, he worked for the Financial Solutions unit of the World Bank on guarantee schemes and PPPs, primarily in the transport sector. He also worked for Nomisma S.p.A., an economic consulting firm in Bologna, Italy. Alexander holds a Masters degree in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Gisele Ferreira Tiryaki
Gisele is an Associate Professor at the Economics Department of Universidade Federal da Bahia in Brazil, where she coordinates the Regulation and Sustainable Development Research Group (G-RDS). Previously, she held a teaching position at Anadolu University in Turkey. Gisele holds a Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University and a Masters degree in Economics from Northeastern University, where she was granted the Morris A. Horrowitz Award for Excellence in Economics.
Chuan is a Professor in Engineering Management at the Business School of Sichuan University in China, where he coordinates the Institute for Best Practices in Infrastructure and Construction. Previously, he held an Assistant Professor position at Tsinghua University. He was also a Lecturer at Melbourne University in Australia. Chuan holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters degree in Engineering from the National University of Singapore as well as a Masters degree in Applied Finance from Melbourne University.
Andreea is a member of the PPI Database team focusing on Europe and Central Asia. Previously, she worked as a research fellow at the Mercatus Center where she authored an analysis of the energy market in the Black Sea region, performed labor market survey research for Eastern Europe, and evaluated the quality of regulatory analysis by U.S. federal agencies. Andreea holds an M.A. degree in Economics from George Mason University.
Robbert van Eerd
Robbert is a member of the PPI Database team focusing on the Middle East and Africa. Previously, he worked at Sidar Global Advisors, producing macroeconomic analyses for private equity firms with a Eurasia portfolio. Robbert holds an M.A. degree in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
